I'm sitting here nauseous (as is the norm lately), thinking up a post and I can't get my mind away from some of my Favorite Fall Flavors.
And I want to SEE all the things I'm thinking about so I'm going to find yummy pics, too! Ooooh, yeah!
I LOVE Thanksgiving! The whole meal that we have is at the top of my faves list. Ours is usually pretty traditional and simple, just how I like it! Turkey, dressing, cranberry sauce, mashed 'taters and gravy, pea salad (one of my favorite things!), sweet potato casserole (among other things)...Oh! And we started a few years ago doing a traditionally baked turkey AND a deep fried turkey (if you haven't tried that, you're missing out...seriously!)...I'm hungry just thinking about it!
Okay, I'll be honest...our spread looks nothing like this, but I thought it was beautiful...love all the fall colors!
Then there's dessert. Pecan pie, pumpkin pie, fudge, and other miscellaneous sweets (we always experiment with new desserts). One of my VERY faves is this:
Pumpkin cheesecake...it. is. DIVINE. Geez, I want some now!
Aside from Thanksgiving, some other fall faves include homemade chili (this is actually mine I made recently...could have used a prettier bowl, huh?).
Homemade stew (not my pic, but sure looks yummy!):
My hubby's homemade hot chocolate:
Goodies I like to make like these (bad pic because there were prettier ones than these! Lol):
And these:
The slew of candy the girls bring in from trick-or-treating (which my preggo self already can't wait for!):
Oh, and I can't forget mine and my hubby's famous duck gumbo (it's AMAZING and literally takes hours to make...and SO worth it!), and yes...this is a pic of ours:
Our recipe is derived from the one and only Duck Commander. Thank you, sir!
Gosh, I'll leave it at this...I am now hungry and ready to start making all these things! :-) What are some of YOUR fall faves?!

Wow, I totally agree with all these fabulous fall foods ... can't wait! and of course, this year we gotta have some of your duck gumbo! Remember the 'duck-duck-goose' year? ;) I also love anything, everything 'squash' - just buttered and baked in the oven. mmm mmm goodness!
Ok. I'm totally starving now. :) And yes, fried turkey is so so good. My in-laws make it every year and I love it.
